Frontier approached us to help re-imagine their inner-city office space. They wanted to refresh one whole floor, replacing drab carpeted walls with bright, bold, inspiring designs. They also wanted to improve their acoustics, so we quoted innovative ways to reduce echo and noise. The only design stipulation was that they wanted to include ‘Melbourne cultural icons’. We made a shortlist of the uniquely ‘Melbourne’ things we loved. Molly Meldrum? Tick. Kylie Minogue? Tick. The ubiquitous Melbourne tram? Tick! We also included a range of other random things that reminded us of our adopted home, and, well – let’s just say this ended up being a very fun job to work on! It will forever remind us of the decade or so we spent living in Victoria. We love you, Melbourne!
